Classification of plastic lunch boxes

1. PP (polypropylene): the only material that can be used for microwave heating, very healthy material. Can be reused after careful cleaning.

2-HDPE (High Density Polyethylene): It is not easy to clean, easy to breed bacteria, it is not recommended to reuse. Usually cosmetic bottles and shower gel plastic wrap-around bottles belong to this material.

3-PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride): It is easy to precipitate harmful substances in high temperature and grease. It is commonly used in raincoats, plastic toys, building materials, etc.

    4-LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene): Hazardous substances are easily generated at high temperatures. Plastic bags and cling films commonly used in daily life are all this material. Wrap food with plastic wrap and heat it easily to dissolve harmful substances in the presence of grease.

5-PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate): It will produce carcinogens after ten months of use. This kind of plastic has a high probability of being discarded after use, and it is usually used for mineral water bottles, milk bottles, etc. It is not suitable for the water that is too cold or too hot, it is easy to precipitate the carcinogen DEHP.

     6-PS (polystyrene): heat-resistant and cold-resistant, it is the material for making bowls of instant noodle boxes and foaming snack boxes. Can not put in the microwave, because the temperature is too high to produce chemicals, so we should reduce the use of fast food boxes to pack hot food.

7-AB (Acrylonitrile Butadiene): Cannot be used for food packaging, but before 2008, the code 7 mainly refers to all plastics except 1~6. The plastic label of plastic milk bottles and water dispensers is usually ‘7’. When using plastic packaging boxes, we should try to avoid high temperature, repeated use and other links, and hope to have more environmentally friendly and healthy plastic packaging boxes in the future.
